The D.A.R Cycle

The D.A.R Cycle

What exactly is the DAR cycle?
There are three distinct Phases of the day that you have to incline your eating habits with. They include;

DETOXIFICATION: 4:00 AM – 12 NOON

ASSIMILATION: 12 NOON – 8:00 PM

REPAIR: 8:00 PM – 4:00 AM

The ideal time to program your body for detoxification is 4AM -12Noon. Click on this to read up on what we discussed on detoxification. Haven understood the import of daily detoxification time on our health,what then is the significance of assimilation?

ASSIMILATION

The best time to supply our body with the fuel needed to sustain the life at the biological level is between noon and 8:00pm. According to Dr. Edward Taub, MD, “These are the healthiest hours of the day in which to eat substantial meals.” This period of the day is the best time to eat our complex carbohydrate,proteins, fats and oils. Cooked food is also best suited for this period of the day. Americans generally prefer to eat their heartier meals at supper, while Europeans prefer it at lunch. Eating our heartier meals between the hours of noon and 8:00pm is a great way to nourish the body. Ideally, I would expect that supper should be eaten latest by 7pm or even a little earlier. Eating our heavy meal after 8:00pm is not a healthy practice. On the long run, we will end up compromising our health if we continue to eat late night meals. Depending on the type and amount of food that we eat, food can remain in our stomach for about 4 hours. This is why it is important to finish eating latest by 7:00pm to give the body the chance to do it’s night work – repairs and rejuvenation.

REPAIR

The human body assimilates what we have eaten during the day by absorbing the nutrients from our blood stream into the individual cells to sustain metabolic needs.During the night hours, the body switches into its natural fasting mode. Therefore, if we must eat something after 8:00pm, it is better to consume fast digesting foods such as fruits and raw vegetable juices or vegetable salad; and these must be eaten at least 2 hours before going to bed. I must mention here, however, that going out in the night for occasional dinner with friends and loved ones is not out of place.

The truth is; the later into the night we eat, the more lethargic and muddle-headed we feel when we wake up the next morning. Therefore, respecting our body’s natural cycles is a smart way to support our overall health. Healing hormones are only released in our body when we sleep. If your goal is to achieve optimum rejuvenation from your sleep, then the best time to be fast asleep is from 10pm and 1am. Those who sleep early and wake up early are therefore more in harmony with their body’s cycles than those who sleep late and wake up late.

As you incline your feeding and living with the DAR cycle, you will begin to enjoy maximum health and wellbeing.
